A superior level of resilience means all Volta clients receive a 100% Uptime Service Level Agreement (SLA) as standard.
Volta is able to offer 100% Uptime SLAs because our infrastructure has been systematically examined and approved by specialist insurance underwriters. It means that every Volta customer accesses the same reliable, resilient, and uninterrupted power supply.
What does 100% uptime mean?
In relation to data centres, uptime refers to the annual guaranteed availability of servers that’s needed to meet the demands of modern businesses.
A 100% uptime guarantee means that customers are assured their critical assets receive uninterrupted power and are kept at optimum temperatures via state-of-the-art cooling systems.
Volta is different though. Our 100% uptime guarantee really is a guarantee.
How do we make this possible?
Volta’s ability to offer 100% Uptime SLAs as standard has a lot to do with our location. Our facility is the only one in London to boast two wholly owned and dedicated onsite 33kV transformers. The two transformers are themselves fed by two separate, diverse power rings within London’s upgraded 33kV network.
Together, the two transformers and two power rings make Volta one of the most power-resilient data centres in the UK.
In the highly unlikely event both grid rings were to fail, our powerful back-up generators kick in allowing us to provide a level of resilience that no other central London facility can match.
