100% Uptime Service Level Agreement

Our 100% uptime SLA Agreement to Clients

A superior level of resilience means all Volta clients receive a 100% Uptime Service Level Agreement (SLA) as standard.

Volta is able to offer 100% Uptime SLAs because our infrastructure has been systematically examined and approved by specialist insurance underwriters. It means that every Volta customer accesses the same reliable, resilient, and uninterrupted power supply.

What does 100% uptime mean?

In relation to data centres, uptime refers to the annual guaranteed availability of servers that’s needed to meet the demands of modern businesses.

A 100% uptime guarantee means that customers are assured their critical assets receive uninterrupted power and are kept at optimum temperatures via state-of-the-art cooling systems.

Volta is different though. Our 100% uptime guarantee really is a guarantee.

How do we make this possible?

Volta’s ability to offer 100% Uptime SLAs as standard has a lot to do with our location. Our facility is the only one in London to boast two wholly owned and dedicated onsite 33kV transformers. The two transformers are themselves fed by two separate, diverse power rings within London’s upgraded 33kV network.

Together, the two transformers and two power rings make Volta one of the most power-resilient data centres in the UK.

In the highly unlikely event both grid rings were to fail, our powerful back-up generators kick in allowing us to provide a level of resilience that no other central London facility can match.

The Cost of Downtime

Downtime is expensive and not just in terms of money. Networks that are prone to outages can affect businesses in various ways.

Lost sales: Especially for eCommerce businesses and organisations that do the majority of their business online, downtime directly prevents customers from making purchases, resulting in lost revenue. If the business is dependent on network availability to deliver a service, downtime makes it impossible to communicate with users effectively.

Lost data: Outages can not only lead to data corruption but they create opportunities for cyberattacks that damage datasets. Though data is usually backed up, outages can shatter customer confidence.

Damage to brand reputation: Regular outages prevent your customers from easily making purchases and using your services. This inconvenience, coupled with a loss of confidence can seriously damage brand reputation.

Reduced productivity: Modern businesses are reliant on online communications and services. A loss of network access means productivity is compromised as employees cannot function properly, production lines shut down, and other tranches of the business are stunted.

It is crucial that your colocation is available to you on a 24/7 basis with complete consistency. Volta’s fully N+1 power infrastructure makes that possible, protecting you from the associated costs of downtime.
